In the meanwhile I'd like to add that one way to alleviate the task of collecting water is to build water wells around the map, which you have access to as early as you are able to collect the necessary building materials, along with leveling up the reliquarium boon that gives those wells an increased water yield every day. So much so that, against my better judgment, I'm going to go play it some more right now. As soon as I learned the mechanics to clean fields, get seeds, etc., I started trying to fill up all the fields this is obviously not the way the tutorial is meant to be played, so now I'm being a good little vampire and following directions and I might live a little longer.Īll of this said, it is a really appealing game. I see other players are progressing beyond the first day, so I feel like I must be missing something there.ĮDIT: It seems I was trying to run before I could walk, so to speak. But even with great care in which actions I take, I still can't get enough food to keep me going. Well, actually I started three playthroughs, because on the first one I thought the bar filling up was a good thing, so I was going around cleaning those fields like a mad person. I started two playthroughs and can't figure out how to balance what needs to be done without getting too hungry and not being able to do anything. I cannot overstate how much I did not enjoy chasing the water. If, and I'm begging you not to, but if you insist on making us chase water, please make it easier by increasing our grab-range, or allowing us to automatically pick up drops we shoot through when we dash. Please give us some way to catch them or never have to chase them or something - right off the bat, not down the road, not after having to chase water for ten days or whatever - please don't make players chase the water. I thought I'd just forget about them after a minute or so of chasing them around and only catching one, but you can't, because they keep on boinging around which is seriously annoying. I can tell this is a game that is going to be a ton of fun. It looks fantastic, the audio is all great (except for those *#$* water drop bouncy sounds - but more on that later). First, I love the concept and the art-style.
